The winds of war between Ukraine and Russia are growing stronger with great concern of the Ukrainian LGBTQ + community

In the event of an invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army, LGBTQ + citizens will not stand by and will instead take to the front line in defence of their nation. Many in the LGBTQ + community are worried about a possible invasion and occupation of territory by Russia, which could mean an annulment of their freedoms and more.

Lenny Emson – director of Kyiv Pride – told Pink News that LGBTQ + people and the whole of Ukrainian society are ready to “take a step forward against aggression (Russian editor’s note)”.
