A new Rainbow flag to get around Qatar’s anti-LGBTQ+ divide

With not even a few days to go before the kick-off of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, protests, and boycotts by celebrities, associations, and even some national soccer teams -for example, Denmark–against the Qatari regime is increasing.

One of these is the new Rainbow flag, capable of being flown in stadiums without risking arrest by Qatari authorities. Authorities have banned the display of LGBTQ+ symbols in stadiums. Recall that in Qatar, homosexuality is banned and punished with prison terms and even the death penalty.
