Marina Machete (28) is the first trans woman to triumph in the Miss Portugal pageant. She is the first trans woman to win the contest. It announced the victory during the final evening in Borba, which is in the southwestern region of Evora.

She will not be the first trans contestant to take part in the Miss Universe pageant. In fact, before her, there was the Dutch Rikkie Valerie Kolle and Angela Ponce–the first contestant in the world–at Miss Universe 2018 for Spain.
