District Judge David Hittner – after recalling the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, which guarantees freedom of speech and of the press, as well as the right to peaceful assembly – ruled that the homotransphobic law of the State of Texas is discriminatory and violates “inadmissibly the First Amendment, restricting freedom of speech“.
In addition, District Judge David Hittner continued: “It is not unreasonable to infer from SB 12 that activities such as cheerleaders, dances, live theater and other common public events could become a civil or criminal violation.”

David Hittner himself had already blocked the entry into force of Law SB 12 – scheduled for September 1 – but only temporarily. Now the final blockade has arrived.
