Texas requires transgender athletes to compete by birth sex

The State of Texas continues its crusade against the civil rights of its citizens

Texas is becoming more and more intolerant and ‘Taliban’, and so after the passing of the law banning abortion for women, it has moved on to eliminate the civil rights of transgender people. The Texas Senate recently voted in favour of a law that would force transgender students to compete in teams that correspond to their birth gender and not the one they identify with.

Now this controversial law will have to be signed by Greg Abbott, Republican Governor and supporter of former President Donald Trump, who will certainly not back down.

Let’s not forget that the battle to prevent transgender citizens from playing sports in teams and clubs in the gender they identify with is a political warhorse of Trump, who may run for the White House again in 2024.

The decision has sparked protests from various civil rights groups.
