At the Attitude Awards, Baronet Elton John promised: “I’ll fight for rights until the end of my days.”

The A-shaped award prompted an offensive joke about Tesla boss Elon Musk and his support for former President Donald Trump in the 2024 US Presidential elections.
“Is this it? Is this the award? What does the A stand for?” he said, as he received the award and then made a dig at Elon Musk.

“I love my husband and my children. I have advantages as a gay man that I never thought I could have. Thank you, David, I love you so much. We have come a long way together and we are very fortunate to live in a country that guarantees us these rights. But there are still people who do not have these rights and I intend to fight for these rights until the day I die.”
