Zander Murray wanted to share on social media the message of a fan who found the courage to declare himself
The Scottish footballer of the Gala Fairydean Rovers club, Zander Murray – through an interview on the channel of his own company – spoke about his sexual orientation, explaining that “The weight of the world is now off my shoulders”.
A decision supported by his own club, his family and the same fans who did not let him lack their support.
Scotland, coming out of footballer Zander Murray
And now the message of thanks from a young footballer who, thanks to Murray’s example, has come out into the open with his teammates and his family.
“I just wanted to tell you that you’ve been a massive inspiration for me to come out to teammates and family. As a young footballer I find it difficult to be myself, as it is, but being gay and keeping it a secret was so challenging… It felt amazing when I told my teammates they were super supportive.”
