London and Boston Marathons green light for non-binary athletes

Marathon runners who do not identify with the male or female gender will take part in the two important competitions

At the Boston Marathon, during registration, athletes will select the ‘Non-binary’ choice, as stated by the Boston Athletic Association.

“We came to this decision by listening to the voices of the LGBTQIA+ community, and we want our event to be a vehicle to promote inclusion and integration.”

Not only Boston, in fact even the London Marathon has put the option for ‘non-binary’ athletes.

“A sea change like this shows our commitment to making the London Marathon truly everyone.”

Not really for everyone, since the entry ‘Non-binary’ will not be applied to competitive competitions, but only to amateur ones.

In the United States of America, after the opening of Boston, about 200 sporting events have opened to athletes ‘Non binaries’.

The two most important marathons will take place in April next year:
