The American actor Denzel Washington recently revealed a story from behind the scenes of the film “Gladiator 2“, directed by Ridley Scott.

In an interview with Gayety, the Oscar-winning actor said he kissed another man in a scene in the film. A scene that was cut from the final cut of the film.

 In particular, Denzel Washington plays the role of Macrinus, a character with a homosexual background, who was supposed to kiss another man who later died.

“I kissed a man in the film, but they took it out. I think they panicked.”

The decision to cut the kiss has sparked discussions about LGBTQIA representation in cinema, with many questioning why Hollywood is still reluctant to openly address certain issues such as LGBTQIA.
