Prominent LGBTQIA media outlet Pink News finds itself in the middle of a media storm after 33 former employees accuse it of harassment
The world’s largest LGBTQIA news site is now at the centre of a media storm after 33 former employees accused Pink News founders Benjamin Cohen and his husband Anthony James of sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour.
The BBC reported that the allegations included sexual misconduct, bullying and misogyny that created a toxic working environment.
The incriminating facts date back to between 2017 and 2024. The former employees described a company culture characterised by heavy drinking and inappropriate behaviour by Benjamin Cohen and Anthony James.
In particular, Anthony James is accused of kissing and groping a junior colleague who was too drunk to give consent.
The BBC also reported that several former Pink News employees expressed fears of retaliation if they reported the harassment incidents.
The two founders of Pink News have denied all the allegations, calling them false. However, the lack of an official response from Pink News has raised further questions and concerns among LGBTQIA advocates and readers of the site.
