Donald Trump has taken office in the White House and has already declared war on LGBTQIA citizens.
In his inaugural speech for the new presidency of the United States of America, President Donald Trump has already announced a series of measures that will radically change gender and inclusion policies in the United States.
And among these questionable and controversial decisions is the erasure of the third gender on official documents, as well as the possibility of firing workers based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.
“The official policy of the United States government will be that there are only two genders: male and female.” (Donald Trump)
And it will be the State Department and all other federal agencies that will enforce the Trump administration’s new anti-LGBTQIA policy. The directive will apply to passports and all official documents.
Not only that, but President Trump will sign several orders that will reduce protections for transgender citizens and end diversity, equity and inclusion programs within the federal government (cutting off funding for transition efforts and firing employees based on their sexual orientation or gender identity).
Meanwhile, Meta and Amazon have already complied with the tycoon’s new American order.
Ash Orr, spokesman for Advocates for Trans Equality, said: “We will persevere, we will continue our work and we will continue to protect trans rights across the country.”
The legal and social battle has just begun, and the future of civil rights in the United States is more uncertain than ever.
