Protest in Seoul against the Supreme Court decision in favour of the LGBTQIA community
Around 230,000 people took to the streets of Seoul, the capital of South Korea, in a massive protest against the LGBTQIA community.
A collective prayer.
A demonstration organised by ultra-conservative Christians against the Supreme Court’s decision to recognise the right of same-sex couples to access the National Health Service.
A ruling that sparked protests from ultra-Christians who described the Supreme Court’s decision as a “crisis of fundamental principles“. And there was no shortage of signs with slogans such as “Protect our children from gender pollution” or “Reject the Anti-Discrimination Bill“.
The protest prayer was countered by a second demonstration organised by various LGBTQIA associations and progressive religious groups to denounce the discriminatory rhetoric and defend the rights of the entire Korean LGBTQIA community.
