LGBTQIA rugby club looking for new players and to go abroad
Colchester King – LGBTQIA Rugby Club – was founded just three years ago and at the time was thought to be the only rugby union team in East Anglia (UK) that was inclusive of LGBTQIA people.
Sam Biscoe (founder of Colchester King) said: “We had a stonking first season last year. It’s led to some people figuring out that they can actually do stuff that they didn’t allow themselves to do because of either possibly being bullied or not seeing themselves reflected in that space before.“.
2025 will bring new excitement and innovation to the club, which has decided to hold new sessions to find new players outside its borders: Ipswich and Chelmsford on 11 January and Colchester on 12 January.
The aim is to enter a championship and play with joy and sportsmanship.
