American actor and playwright in the running for the 2025 Oscar who is openly gay
In a recent interview, Colman Domingo spoke about his experiences in the entertainment world and said that despite being gay, he has had no obstacles in getting and playing straight roles.
“I am offered straight roles. Nobody looks at me and says, ‘He’s gay, he can’t do it. I’m an actor.”
Known for his performances in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and Zola, his ability to play a wide range of characters proves that there are no limits to acting.
“I have no formal training. I’ve had maybe three classes in my life, but I’ve always been an analyser. Maybe I like the idea of not knowing everything, because it forces me to understand“.
Moved from 2014 with Raúl Domingo, we will see him this year in the biopic “Michael” on the life of Michael Jackson, in the role of Joe Jackson (father and first manager of his son).
