An initiative launched by students to combat discrimination in their high school

The start of the new school year in a high school in Piacenza has brought an important change in the fight against discrimination: there will no longer be ‘male’ and ‘female’ distinctions in the student toilets.

The classic icons will not be eliminated, but simply placed next to a sign made by the students themselves to affirm the concept of inclusion for all students, especially those who feel neither male nor female.

A proposal promoted by the students themselves in a high school that is not new to this type of initiative, in fact, from February 2020, a box of free sanitary napkins was put up for those girls who lacked them and also for those who could not afford to pay for them.

A step forward by the new generation against gender discrimination.
